Mordancage is a process where a photograph is soaked in a solution of cupric chloride, acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide until the image bleaches away and the areas of greatest density bubble off the paper and are either removed by rubbing or allowed to reset themselves back on the the paper. The images is then redeveloped and fixed. This process renders a combination negative and positive at the same time.
